ABOUT US

Sol y Sombra - Sligo Spanish Society - began life in 2000 as an organisation set up by María Diaz Caneja, from Asturias in the north of Spain, and Marea Foley, from Sligo, to promote Spanish culture and language in the North West of Ireland.

Since then we have run many cultural events, including Christmas parties, and talks and presentations on a variety of subjects, from Mexican female artists to the links between Sardinia and Spanish culture. We also run courses in Spanish at all levels for those wishing to improve their knowledge of the language.

We are a voluntary organisation and benefit from a strong interest among the Sligo public for all things Spanish.
